
Project Overview:
The goal of this project is to design a visually compelling, community-oriented art piece that will be applied to the exterior of our new library van. The design should be vibrant and welcoming, promoting the library’s mission and activities. The artist selected will work in collaboration with library administration to finalize the design.
Artist Eligibility:
This opportunity is open to individual artists. We are looking for artists from all backgrounds to submit their work for consideration, particularly those who are experienced in public art, mural design, and/or graphic design for large-scale projects.
Project Details:
- Scope: Design the exterior wrap of the library van, including side panels, rear doors, and front hood area.
- Timeline:
Selection of top candidates: Friday, May 16
Top candidates - van design concept submission: Thursday, May 29
Final design due: Friday, June 13
- Compensation: The selected artist will be paid a stipend of $5,000.
- Design Criteria:
- Must be appropriate for all ages and audiences.
- Reflects the library’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Designs should consider visibility and legibility at a distance.
Selection Criteria:
- Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Artistic quality and creativity of portfolio.
- Relevance to the library’s mission and community focus.
- Experience in working on public or large-scale art projects.
