Events at Main
Do you have old photos you would like to digitally preserve? VHS tapes you would like to convert to DVD? Old film negatives you would love to save? Library staff can work with you to save those precious memories!
The Homework Center is available for New Britain teens in grades 6 to 12 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (except on holidays), from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Join us on Thursdays for a dedicated hour of quiet study time.
Join us for Zumba at the library with certified Zumba instructor, Tim Engstrom! Wear comfortable clothes, bring a bottle of water, and get ready to dance! Register today!
Storytime for children ages 3-8. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Stories and a short film or activity.

A self service fax machine is located on the first floor of the New Britain Public Library.

Home Delivery

Home Delivery Service is specifically designed for New Britain residents who are temporarily or permanently unable to visit the library due to health or mobility issues.

Makerspace

The Makerspace is a creative hub where individuals come together to craft, invent, and explore. Whether you're interested in traditional crafts or cutting-edge technology, our space is equipped with a wide variety of tools and materials to help you create, learn, and experiment. Join us to develop new skills, share your ideas, and bring your projects to life.
Meeting Rooms

Our Main Library's Community Room is available for nonprofit and community member use. The Hawley Room, also at the Main Library, is open to organizations/groups who work with children. Both rooms are booked through the Library website.
Printing & Copying

Printing is available for public use at the New Britain Public Library.
Copies are:
- 15 cents/per page for Black & White
- 25 cents/per page for Color
Wireless printing is available through Princh using the code 108344.
Public Computers

The Library provides free public computer access.
Scanning

Out flatbed scanner allows for documents and photos up to 11x17 to be scanned and saved to a USB, sent to an email address, saved to a google drive, or saved to a mobile device (using a QR code).
Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. Users can connect by selecting the "NBPL- Public" network.
