In honor of Women’s History Month, and her 100th  birthday later this year, come learn about the life and work of monumental artist Betye Saar! Phoebe Cos, from the New Britain Museum of American Art, will present on Betye Saar, an American artist who has used assemblages to navigate topics of Black history, racism, femininity, afrofuturism, and spirituality. The talk will draw on pieces in the NBMAA’s collection and explore how Saar, from her early work to current projects, has influenced the art world and women artists today.
