Representatives from the Friendship Service Center's Hope Connection Center will be at the library to assist individuals facing or experiencing homelessness. Individuals may meet with a representative on Mondays between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Curious about crochet but not sure where to start? This 4-week beginner-friendly class is the perfect way to dive in!

Try and build a boat with tin foil, cups and other random materials! Then, add weight to the boat to beat the ultimate test! Can it float? Are you up for the challenge?! Ages 7-12, no registration required.

Do you live or work in New Britain and want to improve your current job prospects or change careers? Learn about the FREE services and programs, which you may qualify for, that exist in the North Central Region of CT.

Try your hand at squeegee art! We'll play around with different techniques and then make a canvas masterpiece!

Join the Children's Department to learn all about bees for National Honey Month! We'll start with a story and conversation followed by a hands on activity. Program for ages 4-12, registration required.

Join us for a guided, step-by-step workshop where you’ll create a beautiful quilted bee square! Participants will follow a pattern and practice essential quilting techniques to complete a unique piece of quilted art.

Storytime for children ages 3-5. Stories, fingerplays, songs, and a craft or a short film. No registration.

Do you have old photos that you would like to digitally preserve? VHS tapes you would like to convert to DVD? Old film negatives you would love to save? Library staff can work with you to save those precious memories! 

One-on-one technology assistance is offered Mondays from 10-11 a.m. and Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. Individuals may register for up to two 30 minute sessions per month by calling 860-224-3155 x125 or stopping by the Information Desk.  

Join Librarian Cara and the Crafty Creatives Club in making easy and beautiful mosaics! Design your own pattern, picture, or go totally abstract to make something geometric and all your own!

New to the area and looking to meet new people who like to play board games? Have an established gaming group and looking for a new spot to play? Join us for board games at New Britain Public Library!

Join us on Wednesdays for a dedicated hour of quiet study time. Teens are invited to stop in to read, draw, catch up on homework or participate in other quiet activities while we play some soothing and relaxing chill beats in the background!

Join Librarian Mads to learn how to sew a simple pamphlet stitch sketchbook or journal! 

Registration is required.

Join us for Chess Club at the library on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. No registration required. All skill levels welcome!
