The New Britain Public Library and Jefferson Branch, will be closed on Friday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. The Library will reopen Saturday at 9am.

Program Description

Event Details

Representatives from the Friendship Service Center's Hope Connection Center will be at the library to assist individuals experiencing homelessness with finding shelter, accessing showers, doing laundry, and more. No registration required.

Assistance offered by the Friendship Service Center:

· Get connected to SNAP, SSI, SSDI benefits through the SOARS program.

· Get help with unemployment and referred to employment services through American Job Center.

· Help with starting or updating a resume.

· Referrals to mental health support.

· Referrals to harm reduction support.

· Connected with shelter opportunities.

· Referrals to housing search specialists.

· Connected with low income housing.

· Engage in peer to peer conversations.

· Get assistance moving to family or friends in other states.
