Program Description

Event Details

Join Karen Bernetti, Yoga Instructor, Recovery Support Specialist, and founder of Mindful Family Recovery & The Serenity Circle, as she leads an 8-week workshop based on the Invitation to Change Approach, which is a model based in science and compassion, built for understanding and responding to people—whether they be loved ones or clients — who are struggling with substance use. These strategies have been shown to dramatically improve communication, increase emotional resilience and willingness to change, and promote self-compassion and understanding for all involved.

The Invitation to Change Approach (ITC) [https://cmcffc.org/approach/invitation-to-change] is a holistic helping framework based in science and kindness, created by the founders of The Center for Motivation and Change (CMC)  https://motivationandchange.com and the authors of the book, Beyond Addiction. It is designed for the families and loved ones of people struggling with substance use, as well as the professionals who support them.

IMPORTANT: You must be able to commit to the entire series as a whole, which is eight Mondays.  Note: The library is closed on 10/13 for Indigenous People's Day.

Workshop dates:

10/6, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1.
