Patrons ages 15 and up are invited to join us in learning a new craft for National Craft Month – Felt Crafts!

New Britain residents looking for employment opportunities are invited to come by the main library to get FREE gently used business professional clothing and accessories!

One-on-one technology assistance is offered Mondays from 10-11 a.m. and Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. Individuals may register for up to two 30 minute sessions per month by calling 860-224-3155 x125 or stopping by the Information Desk.

The New Britain Public Library and the American Job Center have partnered to continue our one-on-one Job Information and Career Resources sessions that will take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.

The Homework Center is available for New Britain teens in grades 6 to 12 on Mondays and Wednesdays (except on holidays or school closures), from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Join the Teen Advisory Board and help create awesome events, recommend books, and improve the teen space at the library! TAB members earn volunteer hours and have a say in what the library offers teens!

Join us for story time for children ages 3-5! Children will build their literacy skills with stories, fingerplays, songs, and a craft or a short film. No registration necessary.

Do you have old photos that you would like to digitally preserve? VHS tapes you would like to convert to DVD? Old film negatives you would love to save? Library staff can work with you to save those precious memories!

Join us for an exciting 8-week course that will guide young inventors through the process of invention and help bring their ideas to life!

Love to embroider and want to chat with others about it? Join us in this embroidery group to grow your skills, socialize, learn about our Makerspace, and have fun!

Are you interested in learning English? Do you want to practice your English pronunciation and conversation skills in a casual group setting?

Join Librarian Mads in the Makerspace to create your own accordion-style book that is perfect for journaling, sketching, or storytelling! 

No prior experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.
