Monthly Friends of the New Britain Public Library Development Committee meeting

Storytime for children ages 3-8! Children may be accompanied by an adult. Stories and a short film or craft. No registration.

Join the Children's Department for free play, story time, songs and more! This program is for children under age 3, with an adult. No registration required.

Sign up for one of our three one-on-one Glowforge sessions to get personalized training on the Glowforge machine and software from our experienced staff!

Join Power of Pawns, a kid focused chess group! Starting with a lesson on how to play, and ending with plenty of time to face off against other participants, we hope to see you there! Ages 7-12, registration required.

One-on-one technology assistance is offered Mondays from 10-11 a.m. and Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. Individuals may register for up to two 30 minute sessions per month by calling 860-224-3155 x125 or stopping by the Information Desk.  

Storytime for children ages 2½-3½, accompanied by an adult. Stories, fingerplays, songs, a simple craft and time to play with toys! No registration.

Representatives from the Friendship Service Center's Hope Connection Center will be at the library to assist individuals facing or experiencing homelessness. Individuals may meet with a representative on Mondays between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Join us to paint and decorate candles for autumn! We will have acrylic paints, colored wax, and pressed flowers for you to use to make your own unique design.

Registration is required.

Create one-of-a-kind snowflakes using book pages! This program is for all skill levels. Step-by-step instructions will be provided, and designs can be simple or detailed.

Do you think you can build a tower to hold up a tennis ball? What if all you had were straws, tape and popsicle sticks? Test your knowledge and work on creative solutions during this engineering challenge! For kids ages 7-12.

Do you have old photos that you would like to digitally preserve? VHS tapes you would like to convert to DVD? Old film negatives you would love to save? Library staff can work with you to save those precious memories!

Introducing the NBPL Crochet Club!

Join us on Wednesdays for a dedicated hour of quiet study time. Teens are invited to stop in to read, draw, catch up on homework or participate in other quiet activities while we play some soothing and relaxing chill beats in the background!

Explore a craft with your neighbors! Bring that crochet project you have been working on, or the drawing you have been inspired to start. Connect with others and work on your project at the library.
